Do you enjoy discovering the animals that live in ponds or streams?
Are you at school, or college, at work or retired?
Would you like to know more about the animals that you find?
Hi-
While on our travels, we have met a number of enthusiastic people of all ages and backgrounds. If you are one of these people who are keen to delve deeper into the fascinating world of freshwater wildlife, we would like to help.
Would you like to take part in some pond or stream explorations that are designed to help you learn more?
We are planning some events when you could do just that and we need to know who you are so that we can choose locations and timings that will maximise accessibility. In theory, this could be anywhere in England and Wales.
Please send your contact details to Richard Osmond (email, postal or phone) and we can keep you informed about planned events.

Aimed at young people who have enjoyed pond dipping or stream sampling as part of a school activity and wished that they could have more net in the water time and more time to identify the animals that had been caught and to investigate their fascinating features.
A comparison might be made between two nearby habitats or between different parts of one pond or stream and trying to answer questions about life in the underwater world.
Interest has already been shown by fishermen involved with the River Fly project and by Pond Wardens. Freshwater life can also form the basis of a fascinating hobby with exciting groups to study such as dragonflies and beetles. “Dipping deeper” will let you learn about sampling ponds and streams and using identification keys. It will also prepare you to take your interest further.
Locations will be near a pond or stream and with an indoor area and toilets.
Hi-
Offers of venues will be welcomed.
